Saudi Business Setup, Answered
The questions investors ask us most before entering the Kingdom.
Can a foreigner own 100% of a company in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. In most sectors you can hold 100% foreign ownership through a MISA investment licence, with no Saudi partner required. We confirm your specific activity qualifies before you commit anything.
What is a MISA licence and do I need one?
MISA is the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia. Foreign investors register with MISA to be allowed to own and run a company in the Kingdom. We secure your MISA investment registration first, then move to your Commercial Registration (CR).
How long does company formation in Saudi Arabia take?
For most activities, expect roughly 4 to 12 weeks from MISA approval to a bank-ready company, depending on your activity, documents and any sector approvals. You get a realistic timeline on your first call.
What is Saudization (Nitaqat) and will it affect me?
Saudization sets the percentage of Saudi nationals you must employ, based on your company size and sector. We set up your GOSI and Qiwa, place you in the right Nitaqat band and give you a compliance plan from day one.
What taxes will my Saudi company pay?
Foreign-owned companies are generally subject to 20% corporate income tax on profits plus 15% VAT on most goods and services; Saudi and GCC-owned shares are subject to Zakat instead. We make sure your setup is registered correctly with ZATCA.
Can I open a corporate bank account as a foreign owner?
Yes. Once your CR and government registrations are in place, we support your application and make introductions to open a Saudi corporate bank account so you can transact from day one.
